I was going to post that but then I saw the autographed photo. I suppose it would depend who is President and who makes decisions on stamp issues. Right now perhaps yes.
What an amazing man. And from all the interviews I’ve seen of him, humble, kind, decent, adventurous, brave, and cool under pressure.
That was a beautiful autographed photo. I wish I had it. I had a Buzz Aldrin signed photo. I sold it last year after my wife passed. I was in the hole and needed the money.
Understand. I’m probably crazy but my collecting days are over except if I see something interesting on the internet I’ll save the pic on my computer. It’s not exactly the same but it fulfills whatever is left over of my collecting desire. Storage and access is surprisingly quite easy.
Sadly, no.
I’m going to print that photo you posted and hang it on the wall. Like you, I don’t collect as much as I used to. I sold off a lot of my autographs over the years and will probably sell off most of the rest by next year.
I have a rather extensive stamp collection that I will need to get together and start shopping it around. I stopped collecting many years ago but I have many rare and higher value items.
I am now collecting silver and gold, but that is for a different reason.
All the best with liquidating
Lovell was a true American hero who had unique adventures in space on Apollo 8 and Apollo 13.
Now he belongs to the ages.
May he rest in peace.

Thumbs up. Both.
You, sir...have an amazing family. Kudos.
Those were wonderful, heroic, historic times.
I just stuck the stamp inside the envelope.
It was an absolute MIRACLE those guys made it back down to Earth every time they did!
Yeah, I can see the ‘adrenaline junkies’ component to all of that.
I was stationed in Germany in 1986 when we lost ‘Challenger.’ We had been in the field, so didn’t know of it until about a week after it happened. It was like a punch to the gut. :(
No kidding! I still tear up when I think about that, and I'm a crusty old man.
I met and had lunch with him back in the 80s. A nicer and more interesting man you could not find. A true American hero. God bless and keep Jim Lovel. He was a treasure.
‘Challenger’ and 9/11, both.
I cry over TV commercials sometimes - but I change the channel if they’re showing abused animals or sad baby elephants. :(
Sorry, Animal Activists! My dollars go to my local no-kill shelter, and I am a SUCKER for taking in their elderly dogs that need a home to live out their days in sunshine, fresh air and freedom! (We should ALL be so lucky!) I have a 15 year old ‘retired’ Beagle sleeping at my feet right now; Dolly Doodlebug.
I raise hunting dogs and I just can’t abide seeing other animals in distress like that! ‘No Sad Puppy Shows!’ ‘No Sad Elephant Shows!’
So, I’m right behind ya, Old Man, LOL!
Rest in peace, sir and thank you for your valuable contributions to our space program.
Sending up a prayer for his loved ones.
