"League wants to keep the media and the fans in the dark" - Skip Bayless conjectures on WNBA hiding Caitlin Clark suffering season-ending injury

The Indiana Fever continue to sideline Caitlin Clark until she recovers from a groin injury she suffered on July 15 against the Connecticut Sun. Clark’s third muscle injury this season has forced the Fever to be extra cautious with her. Fever coach Stephanie White has said on a few occasions that the team will not rush a return for the All-Star guard.

Talk show host Skip Bayless had this to say on Thursday after Clark sat out against the LA Sparks Tuesday, her eighth straight missed game:

“Is it possible that this time, she tore her groin so badly that she’s already been privately ruled out for the rest of the season, yet the league wants to keep the media and the fans in the dark about this so that people keep tuning in, figuring, ‘Oh, she'll be back soon.’ Is that what’s going on?”

Clark ought to quit the WNBA and start coaching in college. She and the girls might make NIL money without the violent lezbo mafia that runs the WNBA.

Agreed. I wonder if she's thinking about it.

If you start an Internet search with “is cai,” the autocomplete is “is caitlin clark playing tonight.”

“Groin injury”?

Maybe, but could just as likely be trying to avoid a hostile work environment lawsuit.

Why would ANY White woman want to play that sport? The cannibals will eat you alive. They even tell you so.

There was a funny Norm MacDonald routine, where he would go to Google and type things like "WNBA High Scoring", and Google would respond, "Did you mean 'NBA High Scoring'"....

"Oh, Google!"

Well, well, well…. That explains the green toys thrown on the court! They had to use plan B to keep the WNBA in the news….

I have not ever watched a WNBA game. However, it is my understanding this Clark lady has been offered a substantial amount of money to play in a 3 on 3 league. Maybe she accepts and when she is not playing 3 on 3, she coaches at a major college!!

She has a 4 year contract with Indiana worth about ~$340K. The big money is a reported 8 year deal with Nike for ~$28M. That might explain some of the rough treatment she has been receiving on the court. My guess is if she were to bolt from the WNBA, her contract would be renegotiated if she moved on to college coaching.

I’ve been so angry for so long at the Yankees that if it weren’t for my son, I’d’ve given up a long time ago. One of several issues, but the one that causes the most visceral anger is the way they lie to the fans over and over and over again. Someone doesn’t show up for a game and no word. Then he’s finally placed on the 15-day injury list, but it’s retroactively dated to his last start. And the 15th day passes, and the Yankees announce that he’s “doing great, and should rejoin during the next rotation.” And then “rejoining” merely means, “showing up to the Stadium.” And then “game-ready by next week” means “may start rehab in the minors by next week.” And then “may start rehab” means “may attempt to throw a baseball 60 feet” and the months and then years roll by and rookie phenoms end up signing for other teams after having played just a few portions of seasons for the Yankees.

Or they don’t actually go on the DL, but suck terribly week after week, month after month, year after year. “Oh, D.J. LeMayhieu will be back to 100% this year, after rehabbing healing up from injuries that have plagued him for the last four years.” And Giancarlo Stanton! And Josh Donaldson! And Anthony Rizzo! And Aaron Hicks! Finally getting better from injuries we were never told they had.

CC is going to have a long, long career in the WNBA. She’ll probably set lots of records. To suggest that she should walk from the sport is asinine.

She'll have to stand up for herself. Michael Jordan and Larry Bird did that when they received similar treatment from the Detroit Pistons (Bad Boys).

If Caitlyn Clark can’t cut it in the WNBA maybe she should seek inferior competition.

Why would she do that? With all due respect, that’s asinine.
