Picture a seven-year-old girl living under communism in the 1980s. Her dad brings her to a local grocery store in the Ukraine, their home, in the old Soviet Union. He tells her to look around at the store and memorize the scene. This was described to me in a radio interview a few years ago by Marina Medvin, a successful D.C. area attorney and writer for Townhall and Forbes. She was that little girl.

Doesn’t look like this is the case here. OP and the author of the article do not appear to be the same person.
Am I missing some previously disclosed info that suggests otherwise?
ARe you envious? Do you remember being bullied and want to “turn the tables” on all the rest of humanity? Are you bitter about the hundreds and hundreds of instances when you were given less than you demanded?
Etc.
Well, this can all be fixed simply by your endorsement of any of the collectivist polities: Socailiasm, DemocraticiSoc.., Communism, Fascism, Etc. Just pick one and go for it. We survivors will celebrate your sacrifice.
I think we define Socialism differently. I think yours is wrong.
New American Prophet is the Reverend’s website. He copies and pastes the work from others, from either their websites or from a more prominent website like Townhall that we usually see direct links to from other FReepers.
If you’re a writer, you like to be paid for your own work product. When someone only gives you the by-line, but no clicks, you don’t get paid.
Why does the good Reverend only post to his website? He doesn’t engage FReepers at all. I’ve tried. No response from him, on the threads or by PM.
Something isn’t right. I think he’s taking advantage of Jim Robinson’s generosity. I hope he does donate to FR.
Could very well be, but he did not claim authoship of the article in question which is STILL not as the other poster claimed... EI; pro-socialist.
It seems a silly nit to pick at this point... but it triggered a tism for me. Accuracy uber alles.
Conservatives from 1933 to 1964 would disagree with you. They defined the New Deal as socialism.
After Goldwater was defeated, most conservatives caved in on the New Deal. It seemed impossible to repeal.
Some hardcore conservatives, such as Jack Kemp, were still calling for the repeal of social security in the 1970s.
Then in the early 1980s, Jack Kemp finally threw in the towel, saying that by now most Americans wanted social security, so he acknowledged that it was politically impossible to repeal.
I know of 2 people that have been to Moscow essentially; I’m not sure where else they have been in Russia. The problem is that they are both dead now, not as a result of being there however. However, I knew both of them to be very truthful, honest folks, but I never remember hearing them comment much about Russia, except they were glad to be back in the states when they got back.
I'll stick by my statement.
A friend of mine spent a month there and he said: If you don’t like potatoes and sausage, you’re screwed.
