THE ICONIC Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM is set to be canceled after a stunning 20-year run, sources exclusively told The U.S. Sun.

Stern, 71, who has had a mega-bucks contract for decades at the subscription satellite radio provider, will likely cut some sort of deal for Sirius to keep his catalogue upon his exit, sources said.

After nearly 20 years, Howard Stern is set to part ways with SiriusXM, sources exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun

"Stern's contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don't intend for him to take it," one insider said of the impending end to the shock jock's latest five-year contract.

"Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It's no longer worth the investment."

The insider added that fans may expect Sirius to strike a deal for his library.

"But as far as him coming back to doing the show, there's no way they can keep paying his salary," the source said. Read More Howard Stern "After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it's like they just can't afford to keep him going."

Another source said Stern's political leanings are also not working in his favor.

Stern famously interviewed presidential hopeful, Vice President Kamala Harris, in the run-up to the 2024 election.

Harris' decision to appear on Stern's show was slammed by many Republicans who accused her of after avoiding a number of mainstream media appearances.

SiriusXM and Stern did not respond to The U.S. Sun's request for comment.

Steve Dahl in Chicago was the original shock jock. Stern came after and copied Dahl’s shtick.

They're not aiming for someone has time to sit and listen. They're targeting working commuters in target demographics that advertisers want. Some of them are driving for less than 10 minutes per trip. The music is meant to be a filler in between the advertisements.

There are no ads. It is a subscription company. Not even a DJ it's all an automated loop as far as their music stations go except Willies Roadhouse has some persons on at times. One is his daughter. I bet the other music stations are playing the same song loop they were playing in 2017 when I bought the truck.

Howard Stern is the Jeffery Epstein of radio.
He is into all kinds of debauchery.

That last will be as effective as Air America was at countering Rush Limbaugh.

There is a generational turning going on, with Boomer driven media stars fading, as they no longer draw the audiences they once did. The firing of Stephen Colbert, the ending of the Howard Stern show, the departure of Lester Holt from NBC Nightly News, and the rumors of the end of Saturday Night Live are all emblematic of the fading of the Boomer generation. Conservatives will not miss any of those programs. However, it has less to do with MAGA than with the eclipse of Boomer cultural dominance. In the 1970s and 1980s, we saw a similar drop off of GI (Greatest) Generation icons like Lucille Ball, Ed Sullivan, Bob Hope, etc., from public popularity.

I agree with you. Early on, he was a comic genius. I listened everyday and laughed my head off damn near everyday. His skits and song parodies were the best and he was one of the best interviewers I have ever heard. He had a way of making all of his interviewees sound interesting and he drew out the sense of humor in each of them. Enjoyable radio!

Then circa mid 90s things changed. I never followed him to Sirius. He became too bland and predictable. He used to make a huge deal out of his faithfulness to his wife and kids and then he got divorced. He then married a very attractive younger woman (the same type of thing he used to rail about with more established celebrities) and was in effect de-balled. His irreverence and razor sharp wit was now a thing of the past. His interviews became fawning and almost fluff like. Then he became woke and turned into a parody of himself a la Don Imus. YouTube has many videos from former staff members discussing what an absolute pri@k Stern became.

While Stern will be tossed from SIRI, the only thing that will matter is streaming services have become elitist places where they can send the worst of the worst, have them on premium pay services, and push their wares to the elites.

100% wrong! That's not what is happening.

What happened is for 9 years now Trump has not only exposed big media and all the players as corrupt lying perverted misfits and freaks, but also exposed corrupt government at all levels.

All their corruption has been exposed by Trump! It's historic and all Trump driven! There has never been anything like it. That's why for 9 years now they wanted Trump dead.

Trump is the most consequential President since FDR. However, he does not exist in a vacuum. Over 30 years ago, Rush Limbaugh laid a groundwork for a popular version of conservatism. His pioneering work was followed by a host of others, such as Hannity, O’Reilly, Savage, and others. Remember that in the 1980s, the only conservative presence in the mass media was when NBC, CNN, etc., would pit someone like Jerry Falwell or George Will (conservative back then) against three of four liberals and call it balanced coverage of opinion. There was William Buckley's Firing Line on PBS and that was it.

You also have to consider precursors of Trump: Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan, and (to some degree) Ron Paul: people who unsuccessfully challenged the Bush era GOP. They were the 1992-2012 equivalents of the Free Soil Party and the anti-slavery Whigs, who laid the groundwork for the rise of Abraham Lincoln.

Nobody comes close to Trump. Not even close. Zip.

Rush Limbaugh laid a groundwork for a popular version of conservatism.

Btw, Limbaugh was bumping bellies with the open border globalist, and was even wined and dined and had a sleepover at the Boosh White House. Rush was an OK guy, but I was just not too impressed with Rush or these so called conservatives you speak of.
