"According to a statement by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (DIU), hackers gained access to a wide range of classified materials related to the submarine, including detailed technical documentation, combat instructions, engineering reports, and crew rosters. The files also reportedly include a full operational schedule, outlining both combat and routine activities."

How is the unfortunate officer selected to tell this to Putin?

A quick round of Russian roulette; the survivor has the task? The old Russian rooftop line jump; the chicken gets it?

NB: The FSB is responsible for the security of government computers, including but not limited to updates and password security.

Military IT security should be at least as good as bank IT security.

If there’s one thing a nuclear submarine hates, it’s leaks.

The Ukrainians take their hacking seriously.

However, intelligence services don’t typically say anything that would make their difficult work more difficult.

Even the White House might be told that CIA experts ‘believe’ rather than CIA experts have trusted data.

Need to know!

Nothing new. For years, and still, just outside the entrance to the harbor in Seattle, A Russian sub has been intercepting communications from the area from our navy. We know they’re there, they know we know they’re there, and we know they know we know they are there. So we lie.

Well, it's not the Ukrainian government. Zelensky tried to start WWIII by claiming Russia shot a missile into Poland. Biden and other heads of state said it was investigated and was a Ukrainian air defense missile. Zelensky wouldn't let it drop and kept insisting RUssia Russia Russia!

This OP is brought to you courtesy of the Ukrainian government's military; that military also made up the 'Kyiv Ghost", a legendary fighter pilot who never existed. Excerpt from the article:

"According to a statement by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (DIU), hackers gained access to a wide range of classified materials related to the submarine, including detailed technical documentation, combat instructions, engineering reports, and crew rosters."

Agreed!
That said, it might be a translation error in the Ukrainian/Hebrew/English process?

But Israel had many Ukrainians before the Russian attack.

Would you believe copy editors trolling for clicks?

“”””Who in their right mind would believe the Ukrainians about anything?””””

That line was easier to sell in February and March of 2022, but after all these years of Ukraine fighting off Russia and now North Korea, it just doesn’t sound the same.

Nice find!

Also, guessing you were riffing on Solzhenitsyn’s quote:

“We know that they are lying, they know that they are lying, they even know that we know they are lying, we also know that they know we know they are lying too, they of course know that we certainly know they know we know they are lying too as well, but they are still lying. In our country, the lie has become not just moral category, but the pillar industry of this country.”

Kyiv Ghost, you say?

In the time of the KYIV GHOST, a post here on FR had much to say on that topic and its genesis, including a link to a PDF from the US State Dept... explaining how to use exaggeration and humor to belittle an opponent.
It was speculated to have been produced in Israel?

With you recalling the Ghost, clearly showing the operation had some success.

It wasn't the kind of operation you think it was. The Ukrainian military admitted they created the Kyiv Ghost for morale. Your information asserting that it was Israel is, of course, disinformation.
