In the Navy, I spent time in the far east and served in three Vietnam campaigns. There I learned language with words and phrases that should never appear in Free Republic. Luckily, then I read philosophy and history books by really good authors. Reading about such distasteful creatures summons those old thoughts, but I can now express them in a much more sedate manner.
I was poking fun because I get verbose and tend to chew scenery when cranked up about a subject, and you made me realize that with your similar format. No insult intended - Free Republic used to have more classic scholars but I fear they were killed off by their leftist cohorts on the campuses they taught and served as mystery meat to the student body.
Seriously though - what we have is a purposeful devolution orchestrated by “academic” radicals who’ve put great effort toward replacing education with indoctrination; not how to learn but what to believe. Congratulations for escaping the scheme.
