I was thinking the same, and then you have this from the article:

Pretty much describes how I raised my kids, and suspect many others here also raised their kids...but we’re still alive.

Which goes to prove the kid is a psychopath. Didn’t just kill his “tormentors” - he killed his “co-victims” as well.
The religion aspect is probably a red herring. Kids kill their parents for taking away their video game or cell phone. It’s a mental illness - nothing to do with religious upbringing, I’d venture to guess.
Exactly. Devoted Christians are sober and vigilant. They pay attention to who enters their lives and what’s going on with them and their children
Most people have a small circle of close friends with whom they visit and socialize. Most people have an organization with which they socialize. These people chose their church. If they were part of the social set at the country club, that would be the issue. Ask the Menendez brothers.

Maybe just maybe the parents were nut cases themselves. On one hand, we blame the parents when it’s a liberal or a leftist and on the other hand when it appears to be a religious survivalist, we excuse them. It just seems to me there’s more to the story before we go around making those kinds of judgments
