"Maxwell was convicted of conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371; transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2423(a); and sex trafficking of a minor in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1591(a) and (b)(2). She was principally sentenced to concurrent terms of imprisonment of 60 months, 120 months, and 240 months, respectively, to be followed by concurrent terms of supervised release. On appeal, the questions presented are whether (1) Jeffrey Epstein's Non-Prosecution Agreement with the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida barred Maxwell's prosecution by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York; (2) a second superseding indictment of March 29, 2021, complied with the statute of limitations; (3) the District Court abused its discretion in denying Maxwell's Rule 33 motion for a new trial based on the claimed violation of her Sixth Amendment right to a fair and impartial jury; (4) the District Court's response to a jury note resulted in a constructive amendment of, or prejudicial variance from, the allegations in the second superseding indictment; and (5) Maxwell's sentence was procedurally reasonable. Identifying no errors in the District Court's conduct of this complex case, we AFFIRM the District Court's June 29, 2022, judgment of conviction."

I am wondering about that myself. Some of the things he has said lately make me think he is maybe stepping over the line - even for Newsmax. Let’s see if the bosses will put up with him. His sympathies for Maxwell seem to be borne on a growing distrust of government, which I certainly posses to a degree. It’s just that his entire show is now made up of one government cover-up (screwup) after another.

Well technically they were prostitutes. It’s not like they were kidnapped and forced to do what they did. Coercion at best. These girls weren’t exactly angels themselves. Forgive me if I don’t cry about them being poor little victims in all this. And yes being 16-17 is a lot different than being under 13 or something. Wasn’t long ago that the age of consent in this country was 16. Not that I’m excusing Epstein for exploiting them and using them for blackmail but let’s not pretend they weren’t willing victims.

Amazing no one made a docudrama over the original case. Bimbos, drugs, sex, money, and elites. Only thing missing rock and roll. Even the Perfumo scandal in the early 60s in England got more notoriety than the Epstein affair did here.

Epstein rises from nowhere to become a well connected personage around the same time some guy (?) from nowhere rises to become president. I don’t think it was happenstance.

I haven’t heard about any 12 y/o’s but no of course they’re not “fair game”. But girls 16-17 y/o who willingly engage in such things are prostitutes. They are certainly old enough to understand the moral implications of what they are doing and allowed themselves to be corrupted by the money. Epstein was a sleazeball but these older teen girls are not to be lauded as totally innocent victims.

Just because she is guilty, doesn’t mean she is not being framed.

Guilty people get framed all the time.

Unscrupulous prosecutors do it all the time.

Easiest and best way to say case closed, nothing to see hear, move along.

And recent history has revealed there are a lot of unscrupulous prosecutors.

Put ALL the bad actions on a dead Epstein who can tell no tales and Maxwell who got the message when Epstein supposedly “offed” himself.

I know little of this Kelly guy as I have never watched Newsmax nor any so-called cable news network since 2016.

But as lousy as so-called cable news networks are at reporting the news, occasionally they stumble on to half-truths.
