Just a third of Americans say they now support Israel’s actions in Gaza, and almost all of them are Republicans, a new poll finds.
The poll by Gallup is the latest in a series by the polling firm about U.S. attitudes about the war. Early on, in November 2023, it found that half of Americans approved of the actions Israel was taking in Gaza, and fewer disapproved. (Some said they did not know.) By last June, more Americans disapproved than approved, Gallup found, but there was still 42% approval.
Now, after more than a year later, the proportion of Americans who say they approve of Israel’s war in Gaza has fallen to 32%, according to the poll. Among Democrats, who started out at 36% approval, the proportion has fallen to just 8%.
The proportion of Republicans who approve of Israel’s actions in Gaza is at the same level today — 71% — as it was in November 2023, Gallup found. The gap was the largest partisan divide on the issue that the poll has ever found.
The poll was conducted July 7-21, starting when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Washington, D.C., and continuing during a period when concerns about a humanitarian crisis in Gaza were simmering but had not reached their current level. The results add to mounting signs of that Israel is losing the support it has long enjoyed among Democrats.
The poll also found both a plummeting approval rating for Netanyahu and sharp disapproval for Israel’s military actions in Iran among Democrats.

Propaganda works.
Now they keep up and increase the STARVING crap
Well they certainly didn’t check with me.
“From the river to the Med, all ham-ass should be dead!”. “ F palestine!”
Islamist mass disinfo is working
Not only that but people get bored with "old news". Even if supporters don't turn against you, they quit being enthusiastically for you. The lesson learned is that if we're attacked again like on 9/11, we ought to kill however many of the enemy as it takes to make them surrender, and do it quickly enough to be done with in a few months.
No feeding the poor and no "win over hearts and minds" like Bush. No notifying ahead of time where the attacks will be like Israel does. Evidently the leftist propaganda will still be against you and eventually convince the masses that you're the bad guy. So finish the job quickly and hard enough to teach the enemy to never ever ever attack you again.
Lest we forget, Tucker Carlson and Margorie Taylor Greene have been working overtime to promote the genocide story.
“Propaganda works.”
It does. Very effective.
I just read a repeated thread on the debunked “evil Joos burn Christian village” story — no, Jews ran and fought a grass fire, village and church saved — and, while it was soundly debunked (again) — the same posters kept posting the same lies — and the occasional well-meaning casual reader was shocked and presumably left the thread believing the lies.
With the MSM and all Democrats (except the PA senator) constantly slandering Israel -— and there being no rebuttal in the MSM — it’s no wonder antisemitism is growing.
It’s like Germany circa 1929 or so.
I would bet serious money that half of those that ‘support Gaza’ couldn’t find it on a map.
Tucker is beyond disappointing. Rush Limbaugh warned us about Tucker. We should have listened harder.
MTG is just weird.
What those Palestinians need is a pandemic.
Encircled by hostile factions which are backed by regimes that sponsor terrorism, Israel is perpetually engaged in a struggle for its existence. As a Westernized democracy, it ironically faces consistent isolation from other democratic nations. Rightly, Israel should disregard the selective condemnation (and negative polls) of countries that unfairly single it out for criticism, as appeasement to these critics will only hasten its extermination.
Propaganda works.
It would not be taking this long to get an unconditional surrender in Gaza were it not for Israel accommodating the “opinions” of everyone else.
It works.
That works.
To Democrats, Bibi has become little Trump or little Hitler, depending on the day of the week.
Far too well.
In today’s world it’s hard to distinguish with so much out there
I think destroying Hamas has proven longer and more difficult
It’s been an optics nightmare
They haven’t much choice
Get it over with
