Big land yacht Continental getting its yearly inspection. Beautiful rust free vehicle that the owner, who is German, brought in from California some years ago. It probably burned a gallon or two of gas just idling as they inspected it. Spoiler Alert: It passes but mostly because they have exceptions for older vehicles. Side note: Boy that is one clean and orderly inspection station.

Local parts store probably of little use.

I have a story about Berlin pimps, the cold war, and Harley Davidson choppers from California. Some day I might share it.

I used to drive pop’s 1975 Lincoln. 7 mpg. Such a nice ride.

Over in Germany, that would be 1.8 miles per liter.

It looked like the first test was for front wheel drive.
Maybe that’s why it passed

And back in the good ole US of A, there are states that require zero vehicle inspections. We are blessed to live in one of those 10 states.

Malaise Era car.
That giant V-8 probably puts out 120 HP...

My Mom and Dad had Lincoln Town Cars for a number of years. They were gorgeous and fun to drive. I didn’t care about the gas mileage, I wasn’t paying for it, lol!
Those cars were from the 70s. Then Lincoln/Mercury changed the styling. No more “Rolls Royce” front grills, they were less elegant. Drove like a dream, a great road car.
