Dog adoption brunch set for Sunday in Marina del Rey [CA]

A pet adoption event featuring dogs in need of homes will take place Sunday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jamaican Bay Inn’s Beachside Restaurant and Bar in Marina del Rey, according to event organizers.

The event, titled “Brunch and Pups,” is being hosted by Dogs Without Borders, a Los Angeles–based nonprofit dog rescue organization. The group operates as a foster-based rescue, pulling small breed dogs from local shelters and partnering with international rescues to help rehome dogs in need. Since its founding, Dogs Without Borders says it has placed over 8,000 dogs and continues to rely on donations, fosters, and volunteers.

We met a nice couple from Calgary last week in Montana who had the nicest Golden Retriever. They got him during COVID and were lucky enough to be picked for his new owners. The previous owner had 400 calls within an hour of posting that the dog needing a new home!

Nice event. We lived in Marina del Rey a long time ago and had a Cardigan Welsh Corgi and a cat. Joe Corgi ran off one day and packed up with the strays on the beach, had a wonderful time and finally came home exhausted.

All dogs need and deserve good homes.
