I never liked Trane. I tried, I really did because he was considered great by so many but nope l just didn’t. He seemed to have absolutely no grasp of the less is more concept.

He was a great sideman to Miles Davis.

Davis kept him on script.

But when left to his own devices...his playing degenerated.

No, he didn't. Because later, his approach came to be called "Sheets of Sound".

So not really a good comparison.
