In my estimation, scientists who believe in God are much more creative intellectuals than their atheistic colleagues. I have long suspected that this is so because the former are certain that there is much that they can never know, while the latter are certain that they will know everything. When one believes that man is master over everything, an intellectual dullness sets in.There's nothing less intelligent than a person who is certain he is right and everyone else is wrong and inferior. You can see some of that right here on FR. These people do not enter into a debate over ideas; they only lecture.
Those on the Left are unified in their belief that they know the answer, and, in this unified unwillingness even to consider that they might be wrong, they have, intellectually-speaking, run off the road and into the ditch.
I believe that one indicator of intelligence is to know that there is a lot one does not know. To realize that there is not one person in this world that knows everything. As Will Rogers once said, there is no one more stupid than an educated mam if you get him off what he was educated in.
Hey Rooster.
One of the traits most “true believers” of any ideology have is that when they are confronted with any data that suggests their views may have an error...
They will build an additional superstructure on top of their old beliefs to deal with the error...
Instead of using that as an opportunity to take a closer look at their views to find any logic holes.
