TAYLOR, Wis. (WKBT) -- Megan Kling is your typical hard-working mom. She never imagined she would have an abortion, until an unthinkable diagnosis changed her life.
Back in 2023, Megan was pregnant with her third baby. She and her husband were raising their two young girls in Taylor, Wisconsin and were excited to complete their family.
Megan says it was a normal, healthy pregnancy, until the 20-week mark.
"Unfortunately, at that ultrasound we uncovered something extremely wrong with our baby," she said.
Their baby was diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis, a condition that meant he was developing with no kidneys and no bladder. There were also abnormalities with his heart and brain.
"So, we were told that our baby would either die in utero or an hour or two after giving birth," Megan said. "It wasn't a matter of if, it was when ... we were devastated."
"When I made it clear that I did not want to stay pregnant with a nonviable baby, they said they couldn't help me because of where Wisconsin laws were at."
At the time, the state's 1849 abortion ban was in effect, but even if it hadn't been, Megan still wouldn't have been able to get care in Wisconsin.
That's because in 2015, then-Governor Scott Walker signed into law a 20-week abortion ban.
"So, any woman who is doing a 20-week ultrasound where they're doing a complete scan of anatomy on that baby, it's going to be too late ... for her to make a decision on how to move forward with a possibly very complicated pregnancy," she said.
After the diagnosis, Megan left the state for an induction abortion in Minnesota.

So she could not wait until labor to happen and do the same? She has to abort him? At least while the baby was inside her she could love him then.
I am sorry for the loss of your son. May God bless you and your husband. When I read this woman’s account, my first thought was “selfish.”
“ I did not want to stay pregnant with a nonviable baby, bla bla bla
Then don’t get pregnant.
Don’t get married.
I never did unltrasounds They’re a lot of heat and unreasoning energy. They have zero medical purpose
None.
You know babies still die from “crib death” or as they call it today SIDS. No one knows why. Could happen any time between one month and one year of age of a baby. Point being that baby is a gift from God and he may ask for it back at any time, and you have to return it.
Yes they do. Make sure the baby is in the uterus where it should be. Some are a ectopic pregnancy and that is dangerous.
People always try to find a reason for US -fetal
I don’t care how many insurance authorizations come through there is no medical reason for a fetal ultrasound
Typical “red herring” baby killing argument.
There’s another way of dealing with devastating news. The doctors could’ve been wrong. Maybe this was going to be a miracle baby.
Thankfully, some women choose to continue very difficult pregnancies. Here’s one.

Ultra sounds are very unreliable.
As usual for the hedonistic monsters on the left. Those braindead libtards have the moral values of animals.
That was my first thought too.
I think they did figure out why. IIRC, a man’s baby died of SIDS. He spent several years researching, earned a PhD and discovered babies that died of SIDS lacked an enzyme that caused them to turn their heads when they couldn’t breathe….the babies the suffocated. I think they can now test, treat and prevent SIDS. All because one father wanted to save others.
