Amazon's sinister new gadget makes Alexa speakers look tame

Amazon is buying AI bracelet maker Bee in a major move to dominate the next wave of personal tech.

The wristbands — which cost $50 — record everything you say, even when you're talking to yourself, and sync with your phone via Bluetooth.

Powered by AI models from Anthropic, Google and Meta, Bee turns your day into a searchable database, creating personalized to-do lists and even tracking how many times you swear.

“Now they have to record all the bright crap they say throughout the day. Geez. It’s an “I LOVE ME!” world.”

Lol... But no different than the Free Republic, it is just in text... :)

Seen them cause horrific vehicular wrecks, aside from waltzing on-foot right through the midst of heavy parking lot traffic as if the whole place is empty, or they’re some freaking king or queen with their enterrage (sorry for misspelling) of followers.

It would be great for recalling what I said to my wife.

What fool would buy this?

They’re going to literally fly off the shelves. Never underestimate the stupidity of the buying public, especially the young and “hip”.

Put some diamonds on one and give it to your girlfriend.

Presumably also recording anything you say near someone wearing one.

Never, never, never, never ever for any monitoring device I know about. I even have tape over the camera on my monitors.

I always put black fingernail polish over my phone selfie cameras right away as soon as I get them. They do not need facial recognition access to me...

And this is how bad the tracking really is, the phones occasionally ORDER me to remove whatever is covering my selfie camera.

Well, I turn off all of those things where I can. I understand gps functions in a broad sense are needed to make the phone work.
But a lot of the other stuff I go thru and deny permissions for or turn off.

No need to make it easier for them. My location stays off until I need it. I give permissions only while using a particular app if that option is presented...stuff like that.

Yes, I have done the same for years now. Delete or disable everything I can. But as a techie I have found out since it doesn’t so any good. They are all still on, they just make us think we have a choice and it is off. They are always on whether we like it or not.

It is a real problem... The only way to block it is to put it on airplane mode, turn it off, and stick it in a faraday bag. This will block all the real time audio, camera, and GPS tracking. But you can’t receive calls of course.

But it will not prevent it from revealing your new location when you pull it out and use it again. But at least it cannot track and record all of these continuously in real time. :)

Picayune, wait till it catches you saying something disparaging about queers, Trans, or something racial, then it won’t just be your mode of transportation that is affected....reeducation camp MOFO, and that loan you were needing?

Yes, it will micromanage every aspect of our lives and punish us in real time. Hypothetical situation that they already have the technology to do right now: Say you are at work. And while you are at work your minor Grandchild steals one of your beers out of the fridge.

They know this because they have tracked you to work and know where you are. They have tracked your Grandkid and know where he is. And since every beer has an anti-theft RFID tag your “smart fridge” reports the event to the authorities and you are charged with contributing.

Another scenario, Your purchases indicate that you bought Bacon twice this week. The collective “system” logs this to your medical records under “diet” and forwards this report to your health insurance provider who then allows AI to decide whether you are approved to get a life saving bypass or not. And because you bought bacon too often they will deny it.

This is not science fiction. This is already known technology they have just not implemented yet because they didn’t have the computing power to fully utilize it yet. But with AI this type of micromanagement and control can absolutely be implemented. This is why they are so dead set on building these AI networks.

But the biggest danger is that they are going to implement it into everything. Finance, healthcare, education, information control, Law Enforcement, AI justice system and juries, EVERYTHING. They are going to use it to “program” and shape the masses to what they want and cull the old, unhealthy, and unproductive of the species. Digital Enslavement in every aspect.
