So, does the Opera House have a name, or is it just the Opera House at Kennedy Center? If it has a name, I don't think it should get a new one.
In any event, I think it is a bad idea to name a goveernment building after a living person.
I was a Steve Garvey fan, but it was a bad idea to name a Junior High School after him in 1977.

This is true. Look at how the Rats of Detroit removed Dr. Ben Carson’s name from a local high school. Those who’ve passed on can no longer feel the churlishness of mortal politics.

I checked the Kennedy Center website. The only venue named after an individual is the Eisenhower Theatre. Eisenhower actually started the Kennedy Center, but the democrats named it after JFK.
