The Russsiagate scandal dates back to 2016. Did Pence turn against Trump that far back? He certainly turned against Trump by January 2021. Back in 2016, Trump lifted Pence out of relative obscurity as the Governor of Indiana into the national spotlight. As Vice President, Pence would have had an inside track for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination. If Trump had suspected Pence of treachery, he would have dumped him for somebody else during his 2020 reelection bid.
