It’s been “unseasonably pleasant” in California, all spring and summer so far.

I do not know if I can walk early enough to keep my dog alive. Maybe at 6 am.

Or, as scientists apparently call it, "Summer."

In July 1977 our parents took us to Washington D.C. to see the sights. It was 106 degree F that day. They didn't talk about "real feel" then, but it had to be well over 115 with that humidity.

Here in central NC, no unusual heat for this time of year. But a lot of rain.

Meanwhile in northern NV.....57 this a.m., currently 67 with a high forecast today of 82. And yes, plenty of hydrating anyway. Stay cool under the dome.

The article places undue emphasis on the heat "index", which is based on an algebraic formula whose intent it to tell you what it "feels like", not the actual temperature. The formula's coefficients are subject to modification from time to time, and are entirely subjective.

Granted, high-humidity makes high-temperatures more oppressive, but how that affects different people is not always the same.

I’m pretty sure I’ve got some leftover covid masks somewhere in the bathroom closet, so I should be ok.

Now that’s what I call Global Cooling.

Buy toilet paper!!!!!!

Seriously, it has been a very mild summer so far in north central Texas. People are having trouble bringing in the hay because of all of the rain.
