nice roundabout way to send more offensive weapons.
Patriot systems are defensive. Ammo isn’t useful as offensive weaponry for the Ukrainians as there are regions of the front lines unmanned. There aren’t enough men left to plan offensive actions and Ukraine is now defending less and less.
In the past, I’d read that the US (Biden) gave Ukraine missiles that could reach Moscow (long range missiles - HIMARS etc.) only to read later that the US purchased Soviet era launchers for Ukraine, so the missiles had less than half their original range.
It’s always been like that - they get F-16s, but you find out that NATO gave them old rebuilt F-16 and kept the new ones, oh and there aren’t runways the F-16s can use near enough to the front lines to be useful, and at the same time safe from Russian attack. Oh and they don’t have pilots, but they are training them. Oh but the pilots are new to flying, and there aren’t enough training slots for them etc.
I have to wonder if this round-about supply line includes USA loans to NATO to purchase there weapon systems.
Of course NATO will repay the loans, with interest. /S
