Yup. I remember an article in Omni magazine back in the 1970’s that would have very nice pictures of various fruits and vegitables. Under each one was the natural “list of ingredients”. It looked like a dang twinkie label. 😁

True, but the distinction between food chemicals and non-food chemicals is still valid.

We survived over who-knows-how-many thousands of years by eating certain chemicals and not others - so it’s fair to say we were not “designed” to ingest non-food chemicals.
