The political establishment is in a full-blown meltdown over Zohran Mamdani, and their reaction is as predictable as it is revealing. Since the democratic socialist’s victory in the NYC mayoral primary, a flood of right-wing attacks has sought to paint him as a dangerous radical.
But these narratives are a house of cards. When you examine the facts, the smears about him being a “communist” or an “antisemite” collapse, revealing a deep-seated fear — not of his ideology, but of his specific, popular policies that threaten corporate profits. This is a factual takedown of the panic and an explanation of what the right really fears about Zohran Mamdani.

The Democratic Socialist decriminalizes shoplifting (legalizes looting), defunds the police (eliminates law enforcement), encourages bums living on the streets (reduces street traffic to local businesses), freezes rents (discourages new rental units), replaces small business bodegas with centralized government-run grocery stores, etc.
Result, fear of crime, shortages, rationing, atomization of the public square, all of which the Communist then exploits to impose total government control of everyday life.
Socialism, whether euphemized as Democratic Socialism, Fabian Socialism, Socialist Internationalism, or National Socialism, inevitably ends up as Totalitarian Communism. You may vote yourself into it, one time, but you have to shoot your way out.
