Premise of article is very flawed.

The disorder is highly concentrated.

Even though a lot of folk such as me live a peaceful life where there really is no more disorder than there was fifty years ago.

That said those not confronted by the disorder on a daily basis care greatly which is why 90 per cent of the counties accounting for a geographic map covered in red indicating they voted for order and for Trump.

The REAL question is why don’t the folk care who are living in the 10 per cent of the counties where the disorder is located.

As is said time and time again on this forum, folk in those deep blue areas are getting what they voted for.

Read Kimball’s essay to connect the dots necessary to understand why today’s youths have a love affair with the third world and for an explanation why they install more hooks and facial hardware than the contents of Roland martin’s tackle box or have adorned themselves with more tattoos than Herman Melville’s Queequeg. https://newcriterion.com/article/the-perils-of-designer-tribalism/

The truth about rising disorder is (or at least was) being concealed by local woke leftist D.A.s and police departments. When government is concerned about the “carceral society” (a term they made up so recently that the word “carceral” is flagged as an error by spell-check) they are happy to cover up the crimes they are allowing and celebrating.

Maybe because it really isn’t. I mean sure we get all these stories, especially on FR where lots of people are addicted to bad news. But in reality... not that much. I remember the 70s. I remember Weather Underground, Black September, The Jackal, NYC garbage strike, outlaw biker wars, gas crunches, the Cuban Crime Wave, civil defense signs all over town, Superfund, 3 Mile Island.

Honestly, while things are definitely a mess now, it’s actually some of the most stable I’ve ever seen.

It isn't wealth alone that keeps cities livable. It’s culture: the rule of law, cleanliness, safety, and a shared civic compact. When residents uphold these norms, . . .

There is a compelling, scientifically sound experiment going on about this right now. In Jerusalem, there are areas that are controlled by Jews and/or Christians, and areas that are controlled by Muslims. It's immediately obvious which area you are in, because in the Muslim-controlled areas, there is trash everywhere - and not just paper litter. There are soda cans, rotting food garbage, old mattresses, everything. The Muslims have no pride in their own neighborhoods.

Jews and Muslims are racially equivalent (all claiming descent from Abraham), and the access to markets, jobs, etc. is essentially the same. The difference is culture, and in particular the way in which public spaces are treated. We saw this in other areas of Israel as well, not just in Jerusalem.

It can be called a Third World problem, but it's really independent of country or "World" or the wealth of the people. It's all about culture.

The difference between the ‘70s and today is that back then these groups had yet be be woven into and otherwise become an arm of the Democrat party. You can say they were fringe and marginal elements back then before they burrowed deeply into our institutions.

The difference between the ‘70s and today is that..............

back then we knew we had enough good in society to overcome evil.

Now it is a bigger battle because we didn’t engage. We all have to start engaging and not let the next guy do it.

Most here don’t have an understanding of MAGA, conservatism, etc. We don’t know our own history or world view.

https://kirkcenter.org/conservatism/ten-conservative-principles/

Folks, take the time to read and study the above. print it out and give to others.

Conservatism is a philosophy, a way of thinking. MAGA

No. The difference between the 70s and now is there’s an internet to make every single local story national so that people who like to wave their hands get lots of hand waving material. The fringe are still the fringe, fringe occurrences are still fringe occurrences, but if you’re addicted to bad news you get feed that addiction. Doesn’t mean it’s real though.

They’re complaisant because it has yet to affect them personally. When it does, it’ll be that much worse.

They do care. They’re just tired of politicians and pundits talking about it and never doing anything to fix the obvious problems. So they’re stopped talking and started stocking up on ammunition.

“If you’re not part of the solution, there’s good money to be made in prolonging the problem.”

You and I know our history. We allowed forces arraigned against our national ethical and moral underpinnings to untether society from them along with our founders vision and great men of the past. Engage. 100%

We have a lot of crime because we have police and courts. U.K. for example.

I think people on this site understand those principles perfectly well, even if some might state them in simpler terms.

We don't have those problems here in SW Florida.

Not a tent or beggar or drug-addled lowlife to be seen. Law enforcement is on top of things here.

We moved from Los Angeles in 2020 after watching Mayor Garcetti take the knee to BLM, watched cops forced to not enforce the law, watched arson go on with no arrests, watched Prop 47 and 57 allow rampant theft and emptying of the prisons.

I turned to my husband and said I will not live where civilization is crumbling and the government services like effective law enforcement is not only failing but its failure is supported by half the population.

So we moved to Tennessee, then landed permanently in Florida.
