So continuing to pay for a show with lousy ratings and demos isn’t a financial decision, but canceling it is...?The staff will slowly part ways as they struggle to find another way to profit off their TDS and hate filled "jokes". As this happens, the show will get worse, if that's even possible. Colbert is a no talent hate filled leftie, and his ratings reflected that.

The Gutfeld show is thriving.....which is at least in part why this jackass is gone.

Colbert barely did the show, maybe once a week, while other leftists did the other four days.

Gutfeld is not late night. It’s the last hour of prime time. Late night is after the night time news.

According to Grok, the show had a viewership of 2.2 to 2.4 Million people, which I find astounding. Knowing what college football and other sports get, that is amazing that/if it is that high.
However Grok also notes that in the 18-49 year old subset, there are only 220,000 viewers. That is hilarious. What that tells me that 2 million of the viewers are old farts who accidently leave the TV on after watching the late local news.

Hire a terrible “comic”….. terrible comic has one schtick, bashing Trump ….. audience stops watching ….. advertisers stop advertising…. Yup purely financial.

“Another 10 months of this moron along with his asinine commercials. CBS gave him another full season.”
Agreed. CBS could have and should have cut the cord much sooner.
On a side note, I’ve never found Colbert to be very funny and that’s regardless of his politics. He always struck me as trying too hard to be funny and relevant. Throw in a dash and smarminess and frankly, I won’t miss him a bit.
Maybe Colbert can team up with Terry Moran, formally of ABC. I hear his podcast must listen

He lost money.
But they left him on.
I suspect whatever the enemedia was getting laundered to them from taxpayers has been greatly restricted.
And Hollyweird has no intention of putting its own money where its mouth is.

And Hollyweird has no intention of putting its own money where its mouth is. Of course not, they are upset that this "free" opportunity to market their failed productions is ending.

According to CBS, the decision has nothing to do with the host, the show’s popularity, or content. Instead, the company said it all comes down to money. But the money is tight because they ran off all of the conservative viewers.

I guess the USAID money isn’t being funneled to CBS anymore.
And his name is correctly pronounced Coal-Bert. Not Coal-Bear. He changed it as a joke and to sound French.

Of course it’s a financial decision. The show was so bad they were underperforming monetary expectations. Cause Colbert is irrelevant nowadays.
