I agree with Doodlebob’s post above - I’ve rarely seen HR do anything to help an employee, especially a lower level one. They exist to protect and promote the interests of the organization.
I’ll bet it was awkward when he went home that night.
I worked high tech companies my whole life and I can assure you that the dumbest people at those companies were in HR, without fail.
High school guidance counselors elevated to the corporate level.
The HR gal is in prime position to sue the company for big money. All she has to do is claim the dude, who is her BOSS, pressured her into this relationship. Big companies constantly train managers, directors and CEOs on avoiding this type of situation.
The CEO is going to increase two womens' personal net worth.
I have posted that here on FR more than once, having been an HR employee. They are NOT there for the employees. They’re the thug arm of Management.
LOL! Absolutely.
This may be so egregious and humiliating that his wife may divorce him — and he may end up marrying Ms. HR. They may also need new jobs, of course.
Here’s the deal .
This guy needs to think like a politician .
Here’s how he can lie and change the narrative.
“Hero CEO saves the life of employee at company outing. CEO noticed employee was choking and without hesitation stepped in an applied the Heimlich maneuver . This saved the women who was choking on a piece of food “
That they're both married makes it a big personal problem for both.
If they weren't both married, no big deal -- she's probably not going to sue anyway.
Do men often marry the side piece? I haven’t seen it happen much.
Lots of second wives got there via that route, though lots get ditched too.
Except for the very real likelihood she got her job because she was already in a relationship with the CEO.
There I was at the concert when my HR lady was eating nachos. All of a sudden she was choking and I went to give her a HineyLick maneuver. Next thing you know we are on the kissy cam! It’s all a misunderstanding! That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
In early 2002, Suzy Wetlaufer was forced to resign from the Harvard Business Review after admitting to an affair with the then-married Jack Welch, the former chief executive officer of General Electric, while preparing an interview with him for the magazine. The affair was brought to the attention of the Review by Jane Welch, Welch’s wife at the time. Jack Welch and Jane Welch divorced and he then married Suzy. Suzy had the interview pulled before it appeared in the Business Review.
In a situation like that, I’d probably wonder: If he’d cheat on his wife with me, how long before he cheats on me?
Just gettin’ warmed up. I believe the soon-to-be wealthy almost-ex dropped her last name online. This mistake will cost him.
