Good story! Which reminds me of another Pearl Harbor karma story:
When they ( Admiral Lockwood) finally believed the submarine commanders who reported dud torpedos and reproduced the problem, implicating the metallugy of the firing pins, they manufactured replacement torpedo firing pins from the propellors of Japanese aircraft shot down in the pearl Harbor attack.
Good revenge amplification factor there too!
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that story ... the Japanese didn’t know what they were getting into. They thought we were too soft to fight a war. Thanks.
