I didn’t vote for her - I voted for him. And one of the reasons I voted for him was the understanding that US involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war would be ramped down. I don’t think Trump’s position on that has changed (yet), but going forward a reasonable debate question for all candidates is “how does your spouse feel about the positions you’ve stated and how likely are they to change your mind once you’re elected?”.

You can’t keep telling people one thing and then do 180’s on issues over and over and expect the kind of turnout he will need to hold Congress. Many people are not happy. People won’t vote for democrats, they will stay home. They are expressing betrayal.

What she said wasn’t military advice..she just pointed out the contradiction of Putin’s words v actions.
I think his mind was already being changed by the circumstances. After pressuring Zelinsky to be more compliant, Trump was pushing a generous compromise deal to Russia, but Putin has shown himself unwilling to compromise.
If Trump actually wants to be bring peace to the war, he needs to be tough on both sides. He’s tried being tough on Ukraine, but that wasn’t enough to bring peace. Now he wants to try being tough on Russia to force a peace. It’s just the other side of the same strategy.
It is possible that Putin thought the US would just let him take the whole country, so maybe he’ll be more willing to negotiate in good faith if he thinks the war will be much harder for him after all.
