I wish she would read my lips and tell her husband.

My lips are saying “Remember what happened after Daddy Bush said “Read my lips, no new taxes” to his voters?

You can’t keep telling people one thing and then do 180’s on issues over and over and expect the kind of turnout he will need to hold Congress. Many people are not happy. People won’t vote for democrats, they will stay home. They are expressing betrayal.

Melania is a nice lady but she is only one midterm vote.

Endorsing Lindsay Graham after the boos he got at rallies is telling.

Trump has been the best president I’ve ever seen for working hard and fast to try to do the things he ran on. I find it so bizarre that after we’ve gotten more from him than we’ve ever been given by a president or political figure before and so unusually quickly, so many people online are pushing the idea that he is doing the opposite.

Trump did not run on letting Russia simply roll over Ukraine and then whatever other place it might want to take. He ran on trying to force a peace agreement between the two sides, and to do that you usually have to actually pressure both sides, which is what he is now trying to do. Yet some online are acting like he ran as pro-Russian and anti-Ukraine, when he did not, or that he promised never to sell anymore weapons to Ukraine, when he did not.

And as far as the Epstein stuff goes, some people are acting like Trump ran on it as a campaign issue, when he only kind of reluctantly said yes when directly asked about it on a podcast. And promises like that can be tricky if you haven’t gone through the materials yet anyway.

I find it so fascinating how many on both the left and right turned Trump into what they wanted him to be in their minds, rather than focusing on what he was actually running on, so even when he does an extraordinary job of accomplishing what he actually ran on (though no one’s perfect) some of his voters are still disappointed and some of his opponents still think he is an imaginary dictator instead of a regular president.
