I didn’t vote for her - I voted for him. And one of the reasons I voted for him was the understanding that US involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war would be ramped down. I don’t think Trump’s position on that has changed (yet), but going forward a reasonable debate question for all candidates is “how does your spouse feel about the positions you’ve stated and how likely are they to change your mind once you’re elected?”.
Well it now looks like you got a package deal.
Ain't that wonderful?
Copied my post: This is a rather unusual case...she is not like other First Ladies. She can read lips and understand the whispers said in Russian. She knows the culture. She is quite a bit more than just “the first lady.” It is doubtful if there is anyone else in Trump’s administration that has her language skills.
I think his mind was already being changed by the circumstances. After pressuring Zelinsky to be more compliant, Trump was pushing a generous compromise deal to Russia, but Putin has shown himself unwilling to compromise.
If Trump actually wants to be bring peace to the war, he needs to be tough on both sides. He’s tried being tough on Ukraine, but that wasn’t enough to bring peace. Now he wants to try being tough on Russia to force a peace. It’s just the other side of the same strategy.
It is possible that Putin thought the US would just let him take the whole country, so maybe he’ll be more willing to negotiate in good faith if he thinks the war will be much harder for him after all.
I agree, negotiate a cease fire, and tell Zelensky “TOO BAD TOO SAD”

Not a good look to hide behind your wife’s skirt. She can have her emotional opinions, but presidential bedwarmers need to stay out of politics.
Well you get her as a free bonus. 😉
