Recalled Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless-Steel Insulated Water Bottle, model 83-662

“That’s because when a consumer attempts to open the bottles “after food, carbonated beverages or perishable beverages, such as juice or milk, are stored inside over time,” the lid can eject forcefully, the CPSC notes.”
Carbonated beverages, eh???
These bottles are NOT designed to be pressurized! It’s the buyer’s fault for mis-use!

We should go back to giving Daisy BB guns out as presents.

So a moron puts milk or juice in there, and it ferments and builds up pressure and hurts the idiot when they open it?
Unreal. Can’t wait to see what the new design is.

I had one of those pump misting spray bottles. I used it to mist my bread dough to get a nice crust. It exploded in my hands while pumping it to pressurize it. It didn't just crack or split. It exploded, embedded into the ceiling, sliced right thru my palm and out the side (six stitches). After inspecting the others (it was a three pack) I realized there was no pop-off or over-pressure relief designed into it, so I threw the rest away in the trash. Lesson learned, but I'm not going to sue anybody.
Water under the right conditions is 1,100% more volatile in expansion than ignited gasoline.
I don't know when I stopped using my brain?

So now there are 850,000 blind people? and, a little bit late to recall them after they caused blindness!

Another thought.
I am pretty shure that the bottles are “made in China”.

I’m not saying we should kill all the stupid people. I’m saying we should remove all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out.

Walmart Walmart Walmart, now tell us which Chicom company manufactured them.

I see a handle on it and a screw on cap. Getting injured from this sounds like those hospital ER stories where they remove something from someone’s butt who “accidentally” fell on it in the shower.

I'm glad I read the article.
At first glance, I thought this was going to be about bottles of tainted water.

In my misspent youth I once put Mountain Dew into an old fashioned thermos bottle with a glass liner. Of course it blew up and shattered the glass liner, and I learned a valuable lesson. The stainless steel ones would hold up better, but the pressure is going to be there and the lid threads are the weakest links.
