Indiana Fever president Kelly Krauskopf appeared to delete her X account, and social media users took notice ahead of the team's Friday night win over the Atlanta Dream.
The previously-active account with the handle "@k2indytex" is now offline. The account was believed to belong to Krauskopf. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Fever for a response.
The apparent deletion was noticed on social media the same day that comments from Krauskopf's introductory press conference resurfaced.
During Krauskopf's Oct. 8 introductory address, the team president spoke about making the Fever an "enduring brand like Apple," while discussing Clark's presence on the team.
"This is about the Indiana Fever. Yes, we have a foundational player in Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, and we're going to continue to add to that. But I want this team to be a leader in the country and a brand, an enduring brand, like Apple or something. We have a real opportunity here," Krauskopf said.
Clips of that quote went viral on Friday, prompting criticism from passionate Clark fans.
In her full Oct. 8 press conference, Krauskopf suggested the team will look to move on to focusing on a new demographic, compared to the fans that it appealed to when it won its only WNBA championship in 2012.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I wonder if Clark ever thought she’d be a national focus of
business, politics and culture wars. She just wants to play basketball.
Whats the problem? She wants to build a long term legacy of winning even after the best womans player leaves or retires?
So the team wants to be a quality long term team and not dependent on one player long term ?
And people have a problem with that ?
According to ticket sales and TV ratings, no one cares if CC is not playing.
I don’t see a controversy here.
Actually, exactly the opposite. Games she plays in get bumped to larger arenas. When she is out, ticket sales plunge. There are numerous investigative news pieces out there talking about how CC is driving a full 40% of the league’s revenue.
I don’t get what’s wrong with what she posted.
She’s better off playing in Europe.
If that's the case, she wouldn't have deleted her X account.
I think Caitlin Clark has a chance to be a pretty good lady basketball player.
I think Caitlin Clark has a chance to be a pretty good lady basketball player.
And still she’s no better than the worst NBA player.
The snowflakes in the rest of the WNBA resented what she said.
I don’t see a problem with it...I would think any team president would want to build the team’s brand.
CC is the brand.
It's like the Bulls saying "the team is the brand, not Michael Jordan" (funny because that is pretty much how it happened at the end)
There are passionate Clark fans?
Yes sir.
Not true.
Have you paid any attention to this? Did you know that the referees are coming forth saying that they were paid “consulting fees” for some of their calls? That the Commissioner, Elderidge, is being investigated by the FBI? That the WNBA is facing racketeering allegations?
Nearly the entire WNBA is black and lesbian? Clark, Cunningham, and Hull are white, straight, ant attractive. No wonder that fans and reporters voted her #1 for the All-stars but opponents vote her the 9th best guard.
When she is not playing, the tv ratings are only 53% as to when she is.
That was poor vision on Bulls’ management.
Ruth was the Yankee brand. In Ruth’s last season, they had Lou Gehrig and Lefty Gomez. In Gomez’s last year, they had Dimaggio. In Dimaggio’s last year, Mickey Mantle.
