VLADIMIR Putin's brutal war machine was dealt another blow today as Moscow confirmed the death of another top Russian military chief.
Russian authorities have confirmed the death of Colonel Sergei Ilyin, commander of Russia's notorious 155th Marine Brigade.
Telegram news channel Astra reported the Colonel's death on Friday, citing a now-deleted post from officials, the Moscow Times has reported.
Ilyin had died "during the special military operation" according to a post attributed to the Urmarsky district administration.
"Special military operation" is the euphemism used by Kremlin authorities when referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
It follows speculation that the Colonel was among the Russian military figures killed during Ukrainian attacks in Korenevo in Russia's Kursk Oblast on July 2.
The 155th Separate Marine Brigade has been accused by Kyiv of committing numerous war crimes in Ukraine.
Its members have been linked to crimes during the occupation of Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel in the full-scale invasion's early days.

That’s not true of all the other senior Russian offcers that Ukraine brags on killing.
To: marcusmaximus
More dead Russians.
Cool.

The officers that were liquidated in Kursk in November 2024 included the NORK officers were also in a command bunker and were obliterated by storm shadows too.

significant number senior Russian officers killed in this war... means that they are leading their troops into battle. Not cowering in some bunker an ocean away, and watching via drone feed. One of the first objectives when attacking an enemy is to destroy their command and control so it doesn't make these dead Russian officers heroes, but stupid or desperate.

Have the Soviets Russians managed to rebuild their parachute and airborne units that the Ukrainians wiped out during the first weeks of the mishandled sneak attack that opened this drawn out little war.

Like Putin’s elite VDV troops who gloriously parachuted into the freezing Black Sea 50 miles from shore to drown instead landing in downtown Odesa?

"Ukraine liquidated Putin’s entire Sumy offensive command leadership team in that strike." No, NATO liquidated Putin's entire Sumy offensive command leadership team in that strike. I can assure you that's how Putin sees it. And with each NATO provocation the fingers move closer to the red buttons.

You don’t understand Putin. Pushing the red button would mean he wouldn’t be able to live in retirement luxury on his stolen riches.

"You don’t understand Putin. Pushing the red button would mean he wouldn’t be able to live in retirement luxury on his stolen riches." You're absolutely right that I don't understand Putin. To me he is the epitome of the inscrutable poker player. And, I've also heard all my life that the Russian mind had been shaped by a history of unspeakable deprivation and pain.
I'm glad you know better, because otherwise the West could be playing with fire.

This source is even a better than the Sun and the DailyMail for delusional people. Glad I could help you out, but I don't understand why Ukraine hasn't won the war a long time ago. Ukraine massacres the Russians everyday on the land, sea and in the air. Enjoy, but be prepared for when the cartoons end.

The counterbalance to today’s mugasm: a pootgasm
VOLODYMYR Zelenskyy’s brutal internal security machine was dealt another blow today as Kiev confirmed the death of another top SBU officer.
Ukrainian authorities have confirmed the death of Col. Ivan Voronych, an officer in the S.B.U.’s Center for Special Operations Alpha.
In surveillance video published by Ukrainian media outlets, a gunman wearing dark clothing can be seen running up to Colonel Voronych in a parking lot and firing what appears to be a pistol several times.
The Ukrainian S.B.U. is very simliar to Nazi Germany’s Gestapo, so there’s no great loss there.

Sure. Maurice Gamelin and his entire command structure was safe in the Chateau de Vincennes, hundreds of miles from the Front.
