I didn't make my point clear. "NY State style socialism" was not referring to the attitudes of whoever votes. I was referring to the system they live under.
it means they bear the brunt of NY State's socialism. Its a poor rural county, there's a lot of welfare, high taxes, high government regulation, any industrial jobs left long ago, fracking is banned, there's a lot of drug addiction, and besides farming, the only decent jobs are State government jobs - and under present system of NY state government, that is not going to change.

Yep. I am in what they call “Central NY” and the big employers are Big Retail, Big Medical and local government. Almost everyone is on some sort of government “resource.” Recipe for disaster. Since March, I can’t find one decent working person that pays their bills on time for a vacancy I have (3 bdrm apartment).
It’s all baby mama/baby daddy drama and deadbeats.
