So...as usual...the media is trying to manipulate us...but to what end??

“that there’s not been more flexibility on the Russian side to bring about an end to this conflict.”

That’s because every idea proposed by the Neocons results in a cease-fire at best, not an “end to this conflict”. A PERFECT example is the following: Kellogg’s idea of letting ‘Putin’ keep what he has and then having the rest of Ukraine join NATO in 10 years, with the implication of restarting the war to get back what ‘Putin’ was allowed to hold on to.

Eventually our side will understand that and either come back with somethings that puts an “end to this conflict”, or stop wasting the time of the Russians.

Given that there are about 200,000 Russians ‘stiffs’, the Russians aren’t going to be flexible on most demands. Their absurd demands should be shown to be absurd.

Both Ukraine and the Russia need to be asked to write down their versions of complete long-term peace deals. Everything worthy of consideration or problematical should be brought out into the open so it can be dealt with.

The US and possibly the Vatican, Hungary, Turkey, China and perhaps Mexico can then piece together possible long-term peace deals.

If something can’t be agreed to by either Russia or Ukraine, the reason(s) should be stated in writing by the party refusing to accept the provision.

Rutte(The Head of NATO): "I know Sergey Lavrov very well. He has been foreign minister of Russia since the birth of Jesus Christ, and I’ve never taken him seriously. When you talk about fake news, listen to Sergey Lavrov."

You don’t understand, BobL - the Russians jammed the signals on one of their own large drones.

This means that The Putin lost the war, and now there is an end to mugasms and Special Socks.

Maybe the new troll for mucus will be The Epstein, and we’ll get 30 Epstein articles a day.

Kellogg’s idea of letting ‘Putin’ keep what he has and then having the rest of Ukraine join NATO in 10 years

Very reasonable proposition. Its what we did with West Germany.

VS the Russian "proposal" = Ukraine surrenders.

Saying the word neocon endlessly solves everything for some people.

My President doesn’t “waste people’s time”.

It needs to be understood that the western Asiatic mind is deeply suspicious.

If the USA is only willing to talk ceasefire and not long-deal deal, then the Russians will not ‘bite’.

A long-term deal would actually be easier to get as both parties would be more willing to compromise to get the far greater benefit of long-term peace vs. short-term peace.

Putin would very much like to put an end to his foolish and costly war. A mere ceasefire doesn’t allow him to do that.

Really Ivan, you think Lavrov eats Trump for breakfast?

What is it about Trump that indicates to you he’s going to do something other than royally F up Russia in Ukraine?

“Very reasonable proposition. Its what we did with West Germany.”

Conditions were slightly different back then, I’d say.

In other words, if those silly Ukrainians will just surrender their country to the nice invading Russians with their Kalashnikovs, everything will be just fine.

I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom and a deal/peace will get worked out, maybe even sooner that what seems possible right now.

Everyone wants to get the most, Russia and Ukraine.

Everyone is making ridiculous conditions for peace right now and pretending like they don’t care unless they get 100% what they want.

But there is pressure on both sides to end this.

It was our side that didn’t want peace and Johnson (UK) even intervened in Istanbul where a peace deal was being worked out. At that time, we thought that the upcoming counter offensive 2023 might change things and have Ukraine retake much of the lost land. Now the tide has flipped the other way, and Ukraine is merely losing more land day after day, and the Russians have the upper hand and aren’t willing to make a lot of concessions.

I am not a fan of this war. This is about as stupid a war as they come. Needless in that there was no real pressing need to expand NATO Eastward, predictable that it would happen, preventable (Nov 21 - Jan 22 we could have changed course), and predictable in what the ultimate outcome would be (No NATO for Ukraine and Ukraine will lose a lot of land).

For the time being, Trump is right in continuing to arm Ukraine. We must because this shouldn’t turn into peace at any cost. If we starve Ukraine of money, weapons, intel, training, logistics and political top cover, we can FORCE them to accept a deal that is horrible, and many Ukrainians will die in the process as well. If we cut Ukraine off (pressure them), they will settle but with a horrible deal. That should not be our goal.

Biden created an endless war. Trump is arming Ukraine to keep them alive but is working towards a peace deal.

IMHO - If we arm Ukraine, we keep the pressure on Russia by making the cost of this war very high to them. Sadly, that is necessary at this point. Trump has the cards handed from his predecessor Biden. We should keep trying to engage Russia. At some point as things settle down (the escalation and rhetoric was out of hand in the Biden era) and the tab keeps getting bigger, the Russians will come to the table in earnest.

Trump is NOT escalating, we are reaching out constantly to the Russians, we have toned down the rhetoric, I believe we have the Ukraine on board regards settling this matter once we get into a zone of reasonable/possible compromise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zone_of_possible_agreement
