Publicity seeking. Why announce it? Just do it and keep it to yourself.
To: DallasBiff
The Cowboys should double their contribution.
I understand they donated 500K as well.
To: stevio
There are several. The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is a more direct way to give than through the Red Cross.

I thought they did $1 million. But they probably dropped half on the way to donate it.
To: Spacetrucker
To encourage other teams and fans to do the same.
To: Spacetrucker
In this case, I think there are a number of advantages including:
- Encouraging other Viking fans to donate.
- Challenging other NFL teams to donate.
- Solidarity with Texas.
- Distancing yourself from the Trump haters to show compassion is more important at a time like this.

No, wouldn’t “b!tch” about it at all - true charity is done without publicity.
To: Vigilanteman
You have som3 valid points; at a corporate level, though, charity seems to always take PR into account. Not saying that isn’t valid to a certain extent, just that I’ve always believed charity should be done from the heart and not from the spreadsheet.
