The Yardbirds doing Dazed And Confused 1968 with Jimmy Page
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
I think the singer on this video, Keith Relf died later playing an ungrounded electric guitar.
And Jeff Beck too.
Vanilla Fudge too.
Great music!!!!
1968. Did that Jimmy Page guy have a career after that? I should look in Where Are They Now. Ex Yardbirds like Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck got later jobs somewhere I think, maybe at oil change places or something.
Think of music history without the Yardbird and John Mayall’s musicians. Thinned out.
Mayall’s guitarists: Clapton, Mick Taylor, Walter Trout....
This was posted a month ago or so. Some Zeppelin hating FReeper said Page stole the song.
I had to let him know Page wrote it. And after The Yardbirds called it quits they told Page it was all his.
Clapton was briefly in tge group. Beck quit not long after Page came on.
The founders were not happy with the studio pushing short radio play songs. They wanted to do more substance.
Jeff was no stranger to changing oil in cars. He built and owned several.
Lol. Jiffy Lube employees.
Yeah, like with P. Diddy there was a lot of need for lube at rock parties.
I saw Led Zeppelin live in 1975. Page used a bow during the performance of D&C.
Page stole everything he ever did.
Jim Holmes won the lawsuit and was credited.
No he didn’t. He wrote the music. Yes, Holmes wasn’t credited on the Zeppelin version. Page changed enough he didn’t think he needed to be. Holmes won.
So many documentaries about it.
So many victories against Page.
He took credit for covers and variations.
Because he was that type of person.
Name them. I only know one or two. Are you saying he stole everything on all the albums? He didn’t write Kashmir or Whole Lotta Love or Misty Mountain Hop or No Quarter, etc?
Elvis lost a few too. Hound Dog foe one.
Yes. You’re right.
Probably in my subconscious about the album Jeff’s Guitar Shop and his collectable cars including ones in which he was injured in accidents.
“Jeff Beck was involved in at least three car accidents throughout his life. One resulted in a fractured skull and prevented him from joining a band. Another involved a thumb injury sustained while working on a car, which sidelined him for months. A significant car crash in 1969 also impacted his ability to tolerate loud noises, specifically cymbals, according to his own account in his book.” Google search.
I’ve never heard of that song before. Judging from the title, it must be a ballad about the life and career of Kamala Harris.
Yardbirds history.
Page, Beck, Clapton -—can’t we find someone who knows how to play guitar for this group? Should we use a classified ad?
Worth it just to see Jimmy playing a Telecaster.
They never recorded it, and broke up soon after this appearance. Jimmy Page was the Yardbirds third guitarist (after Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck), and when they broke up, he put together "The New Yardbirds" in what would become Led Zeppelin. If you want to see some early LZ performances, check out "Becoming Led Zeppelin" on netflix. It starts out with the breakup of the Yardbirds and covers the formation and first couple years of Led Zeppelin.
Google says six total. Madonna 2. Mariah Carey 3.
Mostly over song names.
Remember George Harrison losing over My Sweet Lord?
Some just seek deep pockets.
Actually they are suing publishers at record companies.
It happens.
I enjoy Zeppelin.
Yeah he had bad heart arrythmia which made him unable to survive an electric shock most people would shake off.
Remember George Harrison losing over My Sweet Lord?
George’s answer to that.
