I’m an owner of a company that ties facial recognition software to a 50 cal deployed in Korea and certain other high risk areas. So far they have a human that lets it kill or not kill.
But it can easily be set on auto. Or to kill anything with a human face within a box.
Team (3 people) mobile and packable. Blows itself up if you tamper with it without the key card.
As it works now, South Koran soldiers get scanned in and also have what is essentially a passive IFF beacon and then wander into the kill box.
It made me realize the robots will win if they want to fight.
I guess in time they will also recognize other elements of the target humans, like helmet shape, uniforms, rifle.
Hmmm... hadn’t thought of that.
