There are several types deployed. Israel has several.
Typically called “autonomous robot sniper systems”. Most are large and rather fortified, as they don’t move and are thus vulnerable to counterattack.
Now, they are going in drones and robot dogs, using much smaller weapons, to avoid this limitation.
(The 50cal was chosen to “reach out” beyond typical counter-sniper fire in part for this reason.)
These are deployed weapons, BTW. Not vaporware.
