A woman flying Virgin Australia flight 696 from Perth on on Saturday was kicked off because she wouldn’t stow her fanny pack. She insisted on keeping the fanny pack on her lap rather than placing it under the seat in front of her or in the overhead bin.
She got into a heated dispute with a flight attendant over what they call Down Under a “bum bag.”
Passenger: You’re telling me to take my clothes off on a plane, f*** off. Flight attendant: No I didn’t say that … you had a bum bag on, in the event of an evacuation we need to make sure you’re safe and everyone else is safe.
‘You’re Telling Me To Take My Clothes Off On A Plane?’ Woman Dragged Off Flight After Fanny Pack Meltdown by Gary Leff on June 23, 2025

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Don’t tell me what to do on your plane.
Another one with a DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM badge.
“Bum bag” accurate in more ways than one here.
A lot of Deja vu in your posted excerpt.
So... This woman thought she needed to take her cloths off, but all she needed to do was hand over her fanny pack???
Stupid is, as stupid does.
Australia. Feminism is even worse there than here.
Women today,,they just believe everything they do is ok and no one can tell them otherwise. Even police. Watch the videos online, they are ubiquitous. Its not made up.
You’re not allowed to have those bags on a plane in case of an emergency.. they can get caught on something during evacuation.
The lady who was hauled off the plane was in the wrong. Guess she will be driving/walking/taking the train from now on anyway….
If she was wearing it as a belt, she had a point. However, she overreacted and paid a steep price for it.
Passenger to authorities: You can't tell me what to do!
Narrator: She found out they can indeed tell her what to do...
Arguing with the flight crew never ends well for the passenger.
You’re telling me to take my clothes off on a plane?
That’s right. Stop your grinnin’ and drop that linen.
Nazi Airline went too far. Why couldn’t the lady keep it on her lap?
This is kinda extremist unless the fanny pack was huge. A normal one strapped on is not a hazard.
Sounds like a combination of a power-tripping flight attendant and an argumentative passenger.
I choose my battles. This wouldn’t have been one I chose. I’d have just stuck the thing under the seat in front of me for take-off.
My policy was that if the passenger is a problem, while on the ground, don’t take that problem into the sky. Not leaving the gate or even returning to the gate to leave the problem is the wise solution. Aloft, a disturbance can become an emergency. KICK ‘EM OFF, LET THE POLICE HAVE THEM! (get the checked luggage, too)
I did that only once, when a male passenger refused to fasten his seat belt. (”it makes me feel tied up and not free”)
He’ll change his mind after his head hits the ceiling.
Why didnt she just put it in her carry on and place the carry on under the seat ???
Regardless of how big or small it is, if the policy is "no fanny packs", then no fanny packs regardless of how unobtrusive it may be. Don't want to follow the rules, don't board the plane.
How the hell is this taking off your clothes?? Tired of the retards.
“Take it off! Take it off! Take it all off!”
