Putin: Would be 'happy' to meet with Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists on Friday that a meeting with his United States counterpart Donald Trump is "quite possible."

"I'm always open to contact and meetings ... We would be happy to prepare for it," the Russian head of state asserted, calling Trump a "courageous man" and praising his efforts in relation to ending the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

Putin once again criticized the Western countries for their behavior toward Russia, calling it "aggressive." He stressed that his country was "betrayed" by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as the alliance is expanding even though there were promises that it wouldn't move "an inch eastward."

At this rate, Trump will have to start buying lithium, rare earths from Vlad. Zelensky’s rare earth “ deal” with the Donald not going well. “ you don’t own it if you don’t hold it” comes to mind.

St Z is having a problem “ holding it”.

Russia Seizes Strategic Ukrainian Lithium Deposits, Escalating Global Resource Tensions

Highlights:

-Russian forces have captured key Ukrainian mineral assets, particularly the Shevchenkivske lithium deposit in Donetsk Oblast.

-The seizure potentially disrupts global supply chains for critical minerals essential to green energy and technological industries.

-Ukraine’s estimated $14.8 trillion mineral wealth is at risk, with significant implications for international economic stability.

So sad, to bad.

Industrial banditry in historical Russian Nazi way. At this rate the the west will have to auction seized Russian assests, place a cordon sanitaire around the filthy Russkiy Mir and deport all Russian nationals as a security risk. Be careful what you wish for, FRiend. You might just get it.

Russia and Ukraine fulfill deal to repatriate dead soldiers
Jun 16, 2025 · Kyiv said Moscow handed over 1,245 bodies on Monday, bringing the total to 6,057 in the past few days.

That happened 11 days ago and Russia already has another 3,000 bodies to send? Where are all the Russian bodies?

Funny thing. Sometimes it’s better to negotiate when someone gives you the opportunity the first time. Trump went to Putin in good faith, and Vlad the Invader stonewalled him. Maybe Vlad learned something from Syria and Iran. Maybe not, but testing Trump hasn’t turned out well.

So true. I hid mine in my mother's house house and some maintenance guy took them.

China signed the trade deal so now Russia has permission to stop the war. I firmly believe that part of the reason Zelensky and Putin continued the war was to inflict political damage on Trump. When there was no political damage to speak of they have now both decided to come to the table. The war will be over in a few months.

True, at what price? All the so called recent “finds” are pipe dreams. It takes at least five years ( most likely ten years ) to turn deposits into producing mines.

Ukraine’s lithium mine that Vlad acquired is a producing operation. $$$. If, as he
does with his huge energy market, discounts it China and Russia will hold the lion’s share.

I am sure he will discount it, not so sure about China. Checkmate.

AI Overview

Russia Targets Ukraine’s Key Lithium Reserves
Ukraine possesses significant, albeit largely untapped, lithium reserves, particularly in the Kirovohrad and Donetsk regions. While the country is estimated to hold about 500,000 tons of lithium, roughly 2% of global reserves, these deposits are not currently being mined due to a combination of factors including the war, lack of investment, and technological challenges.
