I’m deep in AI, taking courses in it and using some cutting edge tools.
AI is a LONG way from making decisions. It’s a LONG way from being sentient.
I can’t even get it to generate some decent automated unit test case code.
It can summarize a meeting pretty well. It can explain how to use a feature of some software. It can generate small code refactors. It can even be leveraged to serve as a phone-based customer service rep.
But as far as anything too complex? Replacing knowledge workers? Forget it. Not for a decade or two, will this thing be worth a damn.
The good stuff is being beta tested off line in big corporate labs or at DARPA.
You got the moldy scraps.
Another thing about it is can it lie? Yes!

“What Are AI Hallucinations and Why Do They Happen?”
“...No, AI doesn’t dream in the human sense. But it can fabricate. It can make things up—confidently and convincingly. In the world of artificial intelligence, a hallucination refers to when an AI model generates information that is not true, not supported by any data, or entirely fictional. These “hallucinations” may take the form of fake facts, invented quotes, incorrect citations, or completely fabricated people, places, or events. Sometimes they’re harmless. Sometimes they’re dangerous. Always, they raise important questions about how much we can—or should—trust intelligent machines...”

And that is exactly the problem Laz. They are going to shove this down our throats in the next two years and make it control everything where it is ready or not. Government, Healthcare, Education, Finances, Insurance, Vehicle tracking/control and monitoring, Phone access and tracking, Etc.
Health insurance companies are already letting it approve or deny procedures and claims. And it is killing people...
YES... IT IS NO WHERE CLOSE. But they are going to shove it down our throats anyhow... So get ready for a HUGE cluster over the next two years. And the worst part? If the BBB passes they will have absolute legal immunity from all liability and/or discretionary laws.
That provision needs to COME OUT.
