I posted this because I can never get over how much race is everything in our local politics (I live outside of Mobile). I know the guy they quote, Battiste, and I always thought he was a good guy and never got any indication that he was a black supremacist, but that's the only conclusion I can draw based on his statements. Getting the best mayor is not the goal, getting a black one is more important. A couple of years ago they did an annexation. The only question the black city council members had was, will it dilute the black majority.

So if it’s about electing candidates based on skin color, I need to vote white?
All three of them are RACISTS. It’s not about the best candidate to them. It’s about skin color.

I was nine years old when I saw MLK on the TV wanting his four little children to be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I believed him. I believed him for 62 years.
I was stupid. Skin color, reproductive equipment, and choice of perversion are all that matter.
King, I’m sorry you lied to me.
