The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro ruthlessly mocked Tucker Carlson on Tuesday over his professed concern that a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities could lead to World War III.
“President [Donald] Trump was never, ever going to get us into a nation-building project in Iran. That was never-, have you met President Trump? Have you watched him for the last 10 years?” asked Shapiro rhetorically to kick off his rant. “What unbelievable lack of faith it shows in President Trump for people to suggest that Trump, of all people, was going to get us in to World War III on a nation-building exercise in the Middle East. Are you out of your damned mind?”
Shapiro then went on to play a series of clips of Carlson and his guests issuing warnings about the dire consequences of ordering a strike on Iran, which Trump eventually did over the weekend.
“These are the people who kept telling you it was going to be World War III. And there are lots of them. Lots and lots of people who are telling you it was gonna be World War III. Now, I just want you to note the complete and utter disconnect from reality,” he continued before making fun of Carlson’s reaction to the pre-coordinated Iranian retaliation on a U.S. base in Qatar earlier this week. “Notice the hand-wringing. Notice the sack cloth and ashes. Notice the hand to the heart here. Notice the deep and abiding pain he feels, apparently at missiles that didn’t hit Qatar.” Shapiro also read aloud a number of Carlson’s doomsaying tweets,

So do I, and I also remember how scary it was as he kept confronting and challenging Russia, but we knew he was going to and it worked, it was just nerve racking for a few years until Russia faced the new American and global reality he had created.
