Covid was election politics.

Had they not thrown Covid out there, Trump would have sailed into a second term.
The economy up until then had been booming, we had just given ISIS several blows in the Middle East and Africa, the border was being addressed, a lot of identity politics / lunacy was getting rolled back... People loved him (despite the liberal MSM attacking him relentlessly) and he had very positive numbers until Covid. And yes, it was the Democrats that pushed Covid.
Covid in 1980 would have been called “a bad flu year.”
