Amazingly, you can’t hear it until it is literally immediately over your head.
I had this happen while walking to an air show. The bomber was less than 200-300 feet over my head, yet, since I was walking to the stands, I didn’t begin to think it was there and swinging past early. It made little noise, even then.
I looked up to see what it was and it was a perfect view from directly below.
Amazing!

Unreal the tech. It took them 37 hours to fly to Iran and back

I had a similar experience in Boston on the 4th of July many years ago. The planes shadow covered the street, I looked up, and the B2 was pulling away. Against the city noise, I didn’t hear a thing.

As opposed to the B-1, which will literally rip your ears off.

Had the same experience at the Cleveland Air Show back during the Bush II administration. They did a flyby, weaving from the south through the skyline and over the airshow at the lakefront airport, silent until just overhead. Will never forget it.
That type of display of modern military hardware ended as soon as the crypto-Muslim took office. In the early 90's the Russians sent over a pair of MiG-29's. Beautiful planes.
