Most doctors do not like the AMA and are not members. The AMA gets its money by receiving dues from doctors going through residency, as those programs enroll them and pay for it. The doctors wise up and don’t renew after they leave residency. 99% of doctors only belong to organizations that represent their specialty. The AMA gets most of its money by its ICD and CPT code books for billing. The AMA does not represent doctors like they did before.
