Can it be that companies are not happy with Teams?

Even when given “free” the cost of supporting it leads to much frustration.

Add in the hidden costs of Azure and the up front costs are the only reason everyone doesn’t switch. IMO.

Every Microsoft user can migrate over to Linux based os...
So many advantages of using your own customizable os...vs. being nickeled and dimed to death with forced upgrades, security issues, planned obsolescence, etc.

I've been using Open Office since the late 2000s. I recently switched to LibreOffice.

Windows 11 does enough spying on my computer usage without them also spying on me through MS Office.

As a typical non-techy consumer, my impression of Linux is that it eliminates Microsoft spying but it probably looks like DOS and does not run any programs I use.

I doubt Microsoft much cares. They know where the future lies.

Every Microsoft solution to any problem ever: "We screwed up, so restart your computer."

Hey, what if I don't want to waste my time restarting my computer?

I finally switched to Linux Ubuntu last week on my laptop. Storage was always in the red on Win 11. I deleted MS Office 2016, which saved 4+gb. Woke up the next morning and I had 0 storage left. 11 like everything after Vista was a disaster. Constant updates and crap loaded.

Now I’ve got tons of storage, much faster and libre runs all my office files with no problem.

You guys are really slow, I’ve been running Linux on four different computers for the last 15 years or so. I do not use the full power of Linux.
I keep Windows around just for the few programs I use that require Windows. Since I don’t feel like making changes to Linux applications to make them function more like some Windows only applications like Visio. I’m sorry I like Visio. I still have some Windows versions just for that.

I have a BS computer science degree and also am a electronics engineer so I have varied requirements for software. I’m old and don’t feel like re-inventing everywheel I dislike.

It is good that they have that freedom of choice. I assume there is no issue with proprietary codecs and drivers

I have been using Thunderbird email program for over 20 years. I like that I can customize the look using css file that you create and put here:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\(yours will be different) 8jyu1eib.default-release\Chrome

It is just a text file named: userChrome.css
All Files > make sure the file extension is .css
You can change the look of Thunderbird with what you place in that file.

Google: thunderbird userChrome.css

Click on the AI Overview help
Tells you how to get Thunderbird to see the userChrome.css file.

Here is my code. Copyb then paste into your file then re-open Thunderbird to see the look. You can make changes: https://pastebin.com/Dw9wrHWY

I asked my questions at the link below to learn how.
This site will have people helping you with your questions.

Also: https://www.elevenforum.com/questions/browsers-mail/
Use the search box in the upper right: thunderbird userchrome

You want this add-on that makes the icons much better then the default ones.

Also this add-on is great if you need to edit an email code.
