President Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Saturday that White House envoy Steve Witkoff is ready to resume nuclear talks with Iran's foreign minister, the Russian president's foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said.

-snip-

A senior White House official told Axios: "Whatever happens today cannot be prevented. But we have the ability to negotiate a successful peaceful resolution to this conflict if Iran is willing. The fastest way for Iran to accomplish peace is to give up its nuclear weapons program."

Driving the news: The nuclear talks planned for Sunday in Muscat have been cancelled due to the Israeli attack against Iran, the foreign minister of Oman Badr al-Busaidi said.

It’s going to be a race between negotiations and the Israelis dismantling the Iranian infrastructure all by themselves

The families of the 30 top Iranian commanders now dead are probs pretty tired of the mullahs habit of utter irrational intransigence.

If Israel manages to cause an uprising that overthrows the regime, the talks become unnecessary

Ultimately, negotiations with the Japanese weren’t exactly multifaceted, or extended (that is, timewise).

That said, in Japan, a reasonable individual with sufficient power and influence was in place, in the person of the Emperor, who could be (and quickly was) reached, despite the fact that unconditional surrender was the price of peace.

Seemingly not so in 2025 Tehran.

Unconditional surrender of any and all nuclear weapons, now and in the future, being the price.

He needs his drone supply turned back on.

If I was Iranian I’d be pissed at the Russians for selling me worthless radars and antiaircraft missiles.

Many years ago (about 15-20) Russia offered Iran low enriched uranium for use in their research reactors and one or two power reactors both of which was not related to a nuclear weapons program. Iran rejected this offer because they are hell bent on enriching uranium to weapons grade fissile material.

Iran has the technical expertise and physicists, they are not stupid, that could have produced weapons grade uranium years ago. It is only logical to assume they have and have a few atomic bombs.

Per the movie “Red October” “This business will get out of hand” Can Iran get a bomb into Israel past their defensive network? Probably, they could. At this point in the war Iran would be losing and say, “What the hell” and launch nukes at civilian population centers and not military.

Iran would soon burn from many 300 kiloton thermonuclear weapons.

Question? Why has Israel never tested a nuclear weapon in their arsenal? The answer is simple, they are our designs and they know they work.

I lived in Iran as a youth and worked in the middle east as an adult. The vast majority of the people in Iran are not Israels enemy. They are simply scared of their insane Mullahs whom control Iran and kill any opposition. The opposition that are men if lucky are simply killed. The women that are the opposition are never lucky.

Trump is uncertain and it is showing. He is not in control anymore.

By trying to start new nuclear talks... Trump is probably going to be met with a cold shoulder until Ukraine is settled.

The US pulled out of the ABM treaty. Then as a part of Trump’s Ukraine plan, he used negotiations while attacking the nuclear triaid of Russia.

Russia has now circulated information tying D.C, London and Israel to the attacks on Russian bases.

Russia still has to awe-shit moments when they didn’t respond to attacks on their nuclear triaid.

Trump wants assurances at time when he is tying to further Isolate Russia.

Anyone that doesn’t see the danger at present as a result of the US’s actions surrounding Iran and Ukraine/Russia is care free and lucky. Those who see it understand.

Israel, S.Korea, Taiwan and S. Africa did in fact test their nuclear arsenal and weapons in 1977/78 between Anartica and S.Africa in the sea. The first peaceful transfer of nuclear weapons occured with the De Kleric Govt of S.Africa to prevent Mandela and the ANC Communists from having nuclear weapons.

They may have much in common with the US, but in the seventies American had allies that were not full memebers of the UN, Korea and Taiwan. The four countries banded together and developed their own nuclear arsenals.

This is why no one ever launched armies against these nations since acquisition and the joint development of nuclear weapons.

Taiwan has undersea mines. Korea has buried mines near the DMZ. Israel is the only one that has WINKED about possibly having nuclear weapons. In 2006 they had 400-600 in various configurations. Today it might be as low as 300.

They can't...Iran is too big and Israel is too small. Plus, Israel is gonna start running out of defensive weapons in a few days.

Tell them to go to their room and not come out until they’re ready to say they’re sorry. The ME has been fighting each other since the beginning of time. Enough already.

It's a good set up for some sort of negotiation with the next government of Iran.

We were allies once. Dare we hope?

You are correct.

We’ve sent way to many to Ukraine and now there isnt enough to even supply our forces if we get into a conflict.
As you know, they took a good many back from Ukraine and shipped them to Israel in the last week or so.

The testimony from Rubio acknowledged that.

And i counted tonights attack by Iran on Israel. I figure at least 50% of the missiles are now getting through to the targets after the initial wave. So, the Israelis are left defenseless after the initial attack.
Appears that the refinery in Haifa got hit tonight.
My interest is what is going to happen within Israel after this is over. If it gets over.
A lot are claiming that Israel might use nuclear weapons as a last resort.
I hope not.

As for Iran. Who cares. They can suffer also.

Were families of 9/11 victims tired enough of Bush?
I think that this situation weakens Trump’s hand.
