Iranian Foreign Ministry: June 15 nuclear talks with US not yet cancelled

Despite rising tensions following Israel’s major military strike, Iran has not yet officially cancelled the upcoming round of nuclear talks with the United States, originally scheduled for June 15 in Muscat.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, told NourNews that no final decision had been made on whether the dialogue would proceed as planned.

“It is still unclear what decision we will make on 15 June on this matter,” Baghaei said, adding uncertainty to an already strained diplomatic situation.

His remarks follow earlier statements in which Baghaei had cast serious doubt on the value of continued negotiations. After Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian targets, which reportedly killed senior military figures and nuclear scientists, Baghaei declared that talks with Washington had become “meaningless.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran, and indeed anyone in the world, will not believe that the Zionist regime could have carried out such reckless aggression and ignited a war in the region without cooperation with the United States, coordination of its actions with them, or at least without obtaining their conscious permission,” he said, accusing the US of complicity in the Israeli operation.

If Steve Witkoff doesn’t resign in disgust after being a party to such treachery (Trump bragged of killing the guys Witkoff was “negotiating” with!) he has no honor or dignity left. He’ll crawl in on his belly if he shows up.

Witkoff may have been used regarding Iran, but he’s still needed for Russia as he is about the only person that the Russians trust.

Israel’s attack on Iran did nothing to take away their ability to produce nuclear weapons.

The only 2 things it did is to:

1.) stop negotiations with the U.S.
2.) provoke a response to attempt to lure the U.S. into the war

We are the ONLY country who is able to take out their nuclear programs.

They are too far underground.

When we end up losing Americans, ask yourself….cui bono?

President Trump gave Iran 60 days to agree to a deal. The attack happened on day 61. Iran’s fault.

The Iranian “leadership” that is still alive will be fleeing for Russia or Qatar within a week. #RegimeChange #ByeBye

He has ZERO credibility with anyone in the world now. Other than Trump, he has the lowest diplomatic credibility in the world. Trump lied to Putin on the phone about Operation Spiderweb. It was the EXACT same operation as Rising Lion. The Trump attack on the Russian nuclear triad was a test run of Trump’s Rising Lion treachery with Iran. All that “I just want to end the dying” BS was only a ruse. Just as brazen and ham handed as the Russian “peace” negotiation treachery of Trump’s was Witkoff’s Day of Infamy “peace negotiations” with Iran.

Iran, China, Russia, India, NORKS all now know that Trump was a set up. Peace Candidate, my a$$. It was just a treacherous ruse. I fell for it.

“Read my lips, no new forever wars”. With Trump’s forever wars, forever might well be two weeks.

I know this is hard for you to swallow—but in the world of international diplomacy it is all lies and deceit—by all players.

Time to hit the history books and study the last couple of thousand of years...

It’s timing people-the not-so-perfect storm. Russia needs those weapons Iran will not be able to supply-it helps Ukraine. Israel took care of Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houtis. Syria fell-Iran’s only friend. The strait of Hormuz threatened-a problem for China as the US is drilling more. Russian oil is now worth more-manageable.

Now is the perfect time to act. 61 days and Israel does the dirty work. Sounds like a joint project as everyone is stretched thin.

An agreement will not work. Israel is on a roll and once started those deep nuke sites need to be taken out. When the fighting stops Iran will be more ripe to be overthrown from within. Take out Kharg island to put the squeeze on.

Most of people don’t remember the Shah and those that do just might be a bit nostalgic. Will the Shahs’ son unite the country? He’s against attacking Iran and thinks it will unite the people but negotiations won’t work and it’s just too late.

The Russian reaction to Witkoff will be friendly, cynical and rather amusing:

“Welcome to Moscow. It looks like you are a real player now.”

Don’t have much interest in white hats and black hats.

What *is* interesting is what information is getting out of Israel prior to some tightening of media.

Rather a lot of explosions around TelAviv and elsewhere.

This is really the only thing that matters. What we are witnessing is the destruction of the narrative that worshipped the idea of Iron Dome and Patriot systems.

Maybe the new Golden Dome too. That $25B “down payment” is a waste. You only have to get one missile through when they carry nukes.

Guess what. The decades of accepting that there is no defense against incoming ballistic missiles doesn’t seem to have changed.

Do some reading about plasma stealth.

Looking at the issue of whether or not Iran will cease negotiations regarding nuclear weapons. I suspect that there are a number of higher level Iranians who have asked themselves whether a nuclear bomb will actually make them safer in the modern world. It is a matter of survival to keep your mouth shut in such a situation under such a government. Hopefully, taking out the top level politicians and major military figures will decrease the ratio of hard core nuke lovers, to more sensible thinkers in Iran’s leadership.

I think so.

It might be a double standard and hypocritical seeing how we have nukes.

But if Iran gets a nuke, Tel Aviv (my guess for a likely target) is going to have a new attraction, a mushroom cloud.

Jerusalem is a Muslim holy city too, with a large Muslim population. Tel Aviv with Israel’s military HQ’s, the second biggest city, more Jewish and Israeli, further away from the bigger Muslim population centers, is IMHO the likely target.

Iran is not a nation known for it’s predictability, measured response, or doctrinal approach.

Give them a nuke, and it’s only a matter of time.

You think that wasn’t an act? Trump and Bibi been planning this for months. Witkoff was part of this. Always ask “What else?” When it comes to Trump.

I “lived” in WDC for a few decades...before escaping to relative sanity. The saying in WDC was “If you want a friend...get a dog”.

I’d bet this is gamesmanship from Iran. “We’re coming to negotiate! Israel needs to stop attacking us while we do so!”
