Years ago I asked my doctor to check my vitamin D levels because I was feeling low energy and reading a lot of news headlines about vitamin D at the time. He refused, mumbling the insurance company won’t cover it or something. Years after that I started having some pretty drastic symptoms and he’s like oh we’re going to check your vitamin D and b12 levels among other things. The level ended up being at a FIVE. Lowest he’s ever seen. Got a prescription dosing, now maintaining with over the counter supplements and thank God this was taken care of before covid hit otherwise I’d probably be dead.

My doc and I wanted to check my vitamin D levels because I was taking two of the standard sized pills per days.

Was at 60, in the higher end of the good range.
