If you mean Foxe’s Book Of Martyrs, I read it in high school. Horrific. Dad had a lot of interesting books in his Pastor’s Library, and that was one of them.
My ancestor was last person to be burned at the stake in 1612 in England for heresy. (Refused to baptize his infants.) Anyhow, he never made it into the book, as it covered martyrs during an earlier era.
(One of the more interesting titles

Even the Burger King on Victory Base in Iraq had crowns. Every now and then, you’d see someone walking around wearing one. It was fun.

"Fish are made of meat." Only in a manner of speaking but, technically, no.
meat /mēt/
noun The edible flesh of animals, especially that of mammals as opposed to that of fish or poultry.

No meat for some of us.Why? MORMON??
What's for dinner?
D&C 49:18-19 18 And whoso forbiddeth to abstain from meats, that man should not eat the same, is not ordained of God; 19 For, behold, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and that which cometh of the earth, is ordained for the use of man for food and for raiment, and that he might have in abundance. |
| D&C 89:12-13 12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly; 13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine. |
It must be tough; being a Mormon. Having to face Scripture that state two oppossing ideas and somehow managing to believe BOTH of them! It's no WONDER that
Utah leads in Prozac usage!

Says you.Says them:
'When I tell you what imagery found in Scripture REALLY means,'
the magnificant Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather superior tone, ' it means just whomever I choose it to mean, neither more nor less; but sometimes two or more different things at once.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can define imagery to mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, C.SS.R, S.S.L., O.F.M, S.T.D 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
